Located right in front of Sapporo City Hospital, Shiritu-byoin-mae Seikei-geka Clinic is an orthopedic clinic that opened in May 2013. The clinic director, Dr. Takashi Sakuma, graduated from Gunma University School of Medicine, gained advanced training in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Hokkaido University School of Medicine, completed a fellowship at Princess Margaret Rose Orthopaedic Hospital in the UK, and has accumulated extensive clinical experience at Obihiro Kosei Hospital and Sapporo City Hospital. He is a certified orthopedic surgeon by the Japanese Orthopaedic Association, a consulting physician of the Japanese Society for Surgery of the Hand, and holds a medical doctorate. The clinic's basic policy is to serve as "a family doctor that can be trusted by families," treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions including joint pain, sports injuries, fractures, sprains, numbness in the extremities, osteoporosis, and pediatric musculoskeletal disorders. Rather than focusing on specific specialties, the clinic addresses the patient's overall condition and maintains a flexible treatment system that adapts to symptoms and severity levels, including collaboration with relevant departments at Sapporo City Hospital for referrals when other conditions are suspected. In terms of equipment, the clinic is equipped with X-ray, bone densitometry devices, and ultrasound equipment to support accurate diagnosis. In addition to English language support, the clinic features barrier-free facilities and a parking lot, creating an accessible environment for a wide range of patients.
