Located in the Tonden district of Kita Ward, Sapporo, Medical Corporation Tonden Yokoyama Eye Clinic has been serving as the only ophthalmology clinic in the region for over 27 years since its establishment in 1995. The current director, Dr. Kota Yokoyama, holds certifications as a Japan Ophthalmological Society specialist and Doctor of Medical Science, and is affiliated with multiple professional societies including the Japan Glaucoma Society, Japanese Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Japanese Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology. In addition to general ophthalmological care, the clinic provides same-day cataract surgery for patients experiencing vision decline due to lens opacity. Contact lens examinations and prescriptions are also available, with various lenses available for purchase at the affiliated Tonden Contact. The facility features full barrier-free design, ensuring a comfortable environment for wheelchair users and those with mobility concerns. With multilingual support including English and Korean, along with acceptance of credit cards and electronic payments, the clinic is well-equipped to accommodate international travelers and visitors. Ample parking is also available for those arriving by car. Since June 2024, afternoon appointments have been reservation-based, accepting both same-day and first-visit reservations.
