Genka ENT Clinic, operated by Medical Corporation Sonwakai in Urasoe City, Okinawa Prefecture, is a specialized otorhinolaryngology clinic that has been serving the local community for over 30 years since its opening in April 1990. Since April 2022, Dr. Nobu Matayoshi has taken over the practice, providing care in otorhinolaryngology and tracheoesophageal medicine. Common conditions include recurrent otitis media and sinusitis in young children, allergic rhinitis, pharyngitis, and tonsillitis in school-aged children and young adults, as well as hearing loss, tinnitus, dysphagia, and throat discomfort in middle-aged and elderly patients. The clinic emphasizes clear explanations of diagnoses and treatment plans, with in-house hearing tests, nasal and laryngeal endoscopy, X-rays, and swallowing endoscopy available. Consultation hours are from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a web-based reservation system allowing bookings up to one week in advance. The clinic is closed on Sundays, public holidays, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, during the Bon festival period, and the New Year holidays. English assistance is available. The clinic accepts credit cards and electronic payments, has parking facilities, and is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Online eligibility verification is supported, and itemized medical statements are provided free of charge. When generic medications are available, the clinic may prescribe them under their generic names after explaining the options to patients.
