Munakata Eye Clinic is an ophthalmology specialty medical facility located in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, established in 1978 as a clinic under the Koshinkai Medical Corporation. The clinic is operated by physicians carrying on the traditions of the Kyushu University Faculty of Medicine's Department of Ophthalmology and has served the local community's eye care needs throughout its history. In 1993, it relocated to its current newly constructed building, equipped with parking facilities and barrier-free accessibility to create a patient-friendly environment. All attending physicians are certified specialists by the Japanese Ophthalmological Society, and the clinic has produced professors who have served at Shinshu University, Oita University, and Fukuoka Dental University Hospital's Ophthalmology Department. Currently, a professor from Fukuoka Dental University Hospital's Ophthalmology Department manages a specialty outpatient clinic for diabetic retinopathy on the second and fourth Saturday mornings, while a Kyushu University lecturer provides treatment for eye tumors, eyelid disorders, and lacrimal duct conditions. The clinic provides comprehensive care for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, dry eye, allergic conjunctivitis, ptosis, and nasolacrimal duct stenosis. Surgical procedures include same-day cataract surgery, ptosis surgery, lacrimal duct silicone tube intubation, retinal laser photocoagulation, and glaucoma surgery. For treatments requiring hospitalization or intractable conditions, the clinic collaborates with Oshima Eye Hospital and Kyushu University Hospital. By leveraging this network to incorporate the latest medical knowledge, the clinic continues to provide high-quality ophthalmological care to local patients. English language support is available.
