Shimatani Clinic, located in Asahi Town, Shimoniikawa District, Toyama Prefecture, is a community-based clinic specializing in internal medicine. After graduating from Kanazawa University School of Medicine, the medical director built his career as a gastroenterologist at Kanazawa University Hospital, Toyama Prefectural Central Hospital, and Kurobe Citizens' Hospital before opening this clinic in 2013. He holds multiple certifications including Certified Internist from the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, as well as specialist certifications from the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology, the Japan Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society, and the Japan Society of Hepatology. He possesses high expertise in gastrointestinal endoscopic examinations such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and in treating liver diseases including hepatitis. At the same time, the clinic handles a wide range of conditions from lifestyle diseases like hypertension and diabetes to common cold symptoms, serving as a primary care physician for the community. When necessary, home visit medical care is also provided, with a system in place to accommodate patients with various conditions including cancer, dementia, and frailty. Clinic hours are from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, closed on Thursday and Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and holidays.
