Iijima Clinic is a psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine clinic located on the 3rd floor of the Ota Building, a 3-minute walk from JR Matsue Station. Established in May 2007, the clinic is led by Dr. Masaaki Iijima, who holds a Doctor of Medicine degree and is a designated physician for mental health, a certified specialist of the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology, and serves as a board member and certified physician of the Japanese Society of Naikan Therapy. Dr. Iijima also has experience studying abroad at the Mayo Clinic in the United States. The clinic's guiding philosophy is "medicine befitting the age of the mind," offering individualized treatment proposals that take into account each patient's personal background and living environment. A notable feature of the practice is its commitment to keeping pharmacotherapy as simple as possible, prescribing only what is truly necessary. The clinic is also staffed by certified public psychologists and clinical psychologists, providing psychological counseling, psychological assessments, developmental evaluations, and intelligence testing, with a multifaceted support system built on close collaboration between physicians and psychologists. For first-time visits, the clinic aims to accommodate patients as promptly as possible, with same-day or next-day appointments available when slots are open. Office hours are 9:00–12:30 in the morning and 14:30–18:45 in the afternoon, with Saturday afternoon hours until 17:00. The clinic is closed on Thursdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The interior features a spacious and calming waiting room constructed with body-friendly, SDGs-conscious building materials, and the consultation rooms are designed to be bright and relaxing. English-language consultations are available, the facility is barrier-free accessible, and a affiliated parking lot is located directly across the street. The clinic is a registered health insurance provider and accepts the Self-Support Medical Care (Jiritsu Shien Iryo) program.
