Located in Yukawa-cho, Hakodate City, Hokkaido, the Hakodate Therapy and Independence Support Center Clinic is a public medical and welfare complex operated by Hakodate City. Opened in April 2012 by integrating three municipal facilities for children and adults with disabilities, the center serves as a core facility for regional disability support in Hakodate City, specializing in therapy and independence support for children with concerns or delays in physical and mental growth and development. The medical departments include pediatrics and orthopedics, as well as consultations for developmental disabilities, evaluation of physical and mental development, and rehabilitation, providing comprehensive medical support related to child development. From March 2025, the center resumed accepting new patients for developmental disorder consultations (diagnostic outpatient clinic), and a system has been established to coordinate with other medical institutions when psychological assessments are required. The facility is designed to be barrier-free, includes parking, and also provides services in English. It is conveniently located about a one-minute walk from the nearest bus stop "Yukawa Shisho-mae," offering specialized services for children requiring therapy and medical support and their families, primarily on weekdays.
