Located in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, Sanyo Hospital, operated by the medical corporation Sanyokai, is a 220-bed hospital specializing in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. The hospital treats a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, schizophrenia, and various dependencies such as alcohol, drug, and gambling addiction, as well as developmental disorders, eating disorders, dementia, and sleep disorders. The hospital's treatment philosophy emphasizes 'transitioning from passive to active learning,' featuring not only evidence-based pharmacotherapy but also active psychoeducation that enables patients to understand the causes of their conditions and acquire self-care methods. Additionally, the hospital provides multidisciplinary team-based care including day care, home nursing, and medical consultation, with a strong focus on supporting post-discharge life.
