Mitani Clinic is an internal medicine clinic located in Shirahama-cho, Nishimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture. Director Dr. Kenichiro Mitani graduated from Kawasaki Medical University and has built extensive expertise in gastroenterology at institutions including the Osaka Prefectural Adult Disease Center (now Osaka International Cancer Center), Rinku General Medical Center, and Shakai Hoken Kinan General Hospital. He holds multiple specialist qualifications, including board certification from the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, specialist and instructor status from the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, liver disease specialist certification from the Japan Society of Hepatology, and gastroenterology specialist certification from the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology, enabling the clinic to address a wide range of internal medicine conditions. The clinic is equipped with comprehensive diagnostic facilities, including gastric and colorectal electronic endoscopes, digital X-ray, ultrasound, 24-hour electrocardiography, arteriosclerosis testing (pulse wave analysis), sleep apnea testing, and pulmonary function testing. For endoscopic procedures in particular, the clinic uses a Pentax slim-diameter scope for gastroscopy and an Olympus variable-stiffness scope for colonoscopy, with careful attention to minimizing patient discomfort. The clinic also offers xenon therapy equipment for relief of symptoms such as lower back pain and stiff shoulders, as well as cervical traction devices for cervical spondylosis. Consultation hours are 8:30–12:00 in the morning and 14:00–17:30 in the afternoon, with Tuesday afternoons limited to 16:00–17:30. The clinic is closed Thursday afternoons, Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and public holidays.
