Chieno-wa Midwifery is a small clinic conveniently located within a 1-2 minute walk from Home Stock Kohnan Kamitonda store in Kamitonda-cho, Nishimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture. Director Chie Tanaka accumulated 23 years of extensive experience at Fukami Midwifery before opening the clinic in her hometown of Kamitonda-cho in October 2020. The clinic offers a wide range of pre- and postnatal care services, including breastfeeding and childcare consultations, breast care, postpartum care, weaning food consultations, and bathing instruction, available in both in-clinic and home visit formats. With qualifications including Infant Food Advisor and Adolescent Health Counselor certified by the Japan Family Planning Association, clients receive support grounded in specialized expertise. The clinic also regularly hosts a parenting circle at the local Iwata Community Center, featuring a nursery rhyme class (3rd Tuesday of each month) and a yoga class (4th Tuesday of each month), serving as a community gathering space for families with young children. Sex education outreach classes are conducted at elementary and middle schools in Kamitonda, Tanabe, and Shirahama, along with health consultations and education on adolescent and menopausal health, reflecting the clinic's broad, community-rooted midwifery practice.
