Located in Nagaoka, Kainan City, Wakayama Prefecture, Oku Clinic is a medical institution with over 100 years of history since its establishment in 1919. The current medical director specialized in gastroenterological surgery at Wakayama Medical University and, after gaining experience at National Osaka Minami Hospital and Kokubo Hidaka General Hospital, inherited the clinic. The clinic provides medical care in gastroenterology, internal medicine, surgery, and proctology. A distinctive feature of the clinic is its emphasis on gastric and colon endoscopy examinations. The clinic has introduced high-definition thin transnasal endoscopes that minimize throat discomfort, and offers options such as sedation upon request and low-dose laxatives to reduce physical burden during examinations. For colonoscopy, the clinic is equipped with private preparation rooms with toilets for privacy consideration, and same-day gastric and colon endoscopy is also available. Additionally, the clinic offers specialized examination services including hydrogen and methane breath tests when SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) is suspected, as well as intestinal flora tests (MyKinsoPro, MicroBioMe).
