Located in Eifukucho, Suginami Ward, Tokyo, Eifukucho Mimaki Eye Clinic has provided care to over 40,000 local residents since opening in 2011. With more than 1,000 cataract surgeries performed, the clinic now offers multifocal intraocular lenses available under health insurance, in addition to monofocal lenses. Surgeries are conducted at Kugayama Hospital's operating room with an anesthesiologist present, with options for same-day discharge or one-night hospital stay. The clinic director personally provides pre- and post-operative support. In pediatric ophthalmology, orthoptists are on staff to offer visual function testing and recovery training for children with strabismus or amblyopia. The clinic also offers specialized examinations and treatments, including visual field testing for glaucoma, 3D optical coherence tomography for age-related macular degeneration, and retinal photocoagulation for retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy. Prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as treatment for common eye conditions such as conjunctivitis, hay fever, and dry eye are also available. The facility is wheelchair accessible and provides services in English.
