With a 29-year history in Togoshi, Shinagawa Ward, Michiko Dental Clinic opened in the founder's hometown and provides community-focused care. Hours are weekdays 9:30 AM to approximately 8:00 PM, and Saturdays are irregularly open from 10:00 AM to around 5:00 PM. The clinic adopts Minimal Intervention (MI) treatment principles, aiming for minimal invasiveness by avoiding unnecessary drilling and extractions. Based on the concept advocated by the FDI World Dental Federation, there are many cases where teeth that were diagnosed at other clinics as requiring root canal treatment or extraction only could be preserved through MI treatment. Emphasizing the close relationship between dental and overall health, the clinic aims to help patients become interested in their oral condition. Infection prevention is also a priority: gloves are changed for each patient, instruments are sterilized, extra-oral suction is used, and waiting and treatment rooms are equipped with air purification devices that deactivate COVID-19 and influenza viruses. The clinic is barrier-free, accepts credit cards and electronic payments, and provides parking. English service is available for international patients.
