Minerva Clinic is an internal medicine clinic located in Kitaaoyama, Minato Ward, Tokyo, specializing in New Prenatal Testing (NIPT). Although the clinic is not an accredited facility, it features a clinical genetics specialist on staff, and the director personally provides genetic counseling that is typically only available at accredited facilities. NIPT is a test that detects fetal chromosomal abnormalities by collecting maternal blood from 9 weeks of pregnancy onwards. At Minerva Clinic, the test can be received as clinical research from 6 weeks of pregnancy. The clinic offers a wide range of testing plans, including Trisomy 21, 13, and 18, all chromosomes from 1 to 22, sex determination, severe diseases based on parental genetic combinations, and infant diseases caused by sperm mutations. In June 2025, an obstetrics and gynecology department was added, allowing one-stop implementation of NIPT (a screening test) and definitive tests (chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis). Before testing, the baby's condition can be confirmed using 4D ultrasound equipment, and the clinic supports English services, credit cards, and electronic payments.
