Akiyama Eye Clinic is an ophthalmology clinic with over 60 years of history located in Takinogawa, Kita Ward, Tokyo, featuring parking and barrier-free accessibility. Former Clinic Director Kenichi Akiyama studied ophthalmology in the US in the 1970s, obtained American Board of Ophthalmology certification, and established the clinic in 1992 upon returning to Japan. The clinic provides advanced ophthalmological surgeries and treatments to the local community, specializing in same-day cataract and vitrectomy surgeries. In January 2016, it received certification as an advanced medical care facility for lens replacement surgery using multifocal intraocular lenses. Current Clinic Director Goichi Akiyama holds a PhD in Medicine and is a board-certified ophthalmologist by the Japanese Ophthalmological Society, seeing patients on Monday afternoons, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The clinic actively incorporates new equipment and techniques to deliver advanced, specialized care to local patients.
