Ayame Eye Clinic Toyota is an ophthalmology clinic located approximately a 2-minute walk from Toyota Station in Hino City, Tokyo, which opened in November 2022. Dr. Fumi Oohira, the director, graduated from the Keio University School of Medicine and, after training at specialized institutions in pediatric ophthalmology and low vision care, has performed cataract, glaucoma, and vitreoretinal surgeries at multiple medical facilities in the Minami-Tama area. In addition to being a board-certified ophthalmologist, she also holds a certification as a Kampo medicine specialist, enabling the clinic to offer care that combines Western and Eastern medical approaches — one of its distinctive features. Consultations begin at 7:30 AM, accommodating visits before work. The clinic performs same-day cataract surgery, intravitreal injections for diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration, and ophthalmic laser treatments. It is also equipped with multiple advanced retinal function testing devices, placing particular emphasis on retinal disease assessment. Additionally, the clinic minimizes the use of pupil-dilating drops to reduce the impact on patients' daily activities after their visit. Credit cards and electronic payments are accepted, and barrier-free facilities are available. Note that consultation at this clinic requires the ability to communicate in Japanese or English.
