Located in Tomita, Ohiracho, Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture, Ohira Ophthalmology offers general ophthalmology services, day cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, and lacrimal duct surgery. The clean operating room, meeting ISO Class 7 standards, is equipped with advanced devices such as Infinity to reduce cataract surgery burden and ophthalmic surgical microscope systems enabling precise micro-incision surgery. For examinations, the facility features a wide range of diagnostic equipment, including auto-keratometers for refraction tests and corneal curvature radius measurements, specular microscopes for imaging and measuring corneal endothelial cell count and morphology, visual field analyzers for monitoring glaucomatous visual field defects, and optical coherence tomography useful for diagnosing macular and retinal diseases. Additionally, YAG laser used for posterior capsule opacification and glaucoma treatment, and retinal photocoagulation laser for fundus diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion have been introduced. Director Dr. Yasutaka Taguchi graduated from Gifu University School of Medicine, gained experience at Tonou Eye Clinic and Nagoya Medical Center of the National Hospital Organization before opening the clinic in 2017, supporting the eye health of people in the community from young children to the elderly.
