Nionohama Clinic is a psychiatric and neurological practice located in the Nionohama area of Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, specializing in psychiatry, neurology, and psychosomatic medicine. The clinic's director, Dr. Shira Murata, graduated from Kansai Medical University in 1975 and, after training at Kobe University's Department of Neuropsychiatry and the Neurology Department of Osaka Railway Hospital, established the clinic in 1987. Dr. Murata is a board-certified psychiatrist recognized by the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is also a member of the EMDR Japan Association and the Japanese Society of Clinical Hypnosis, bringing a multifaceted approach to mental health care. Clinical services include treatment for depression, epilepsy, schizophrenia, and other conditions through outpatient psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy, as well as mental health consultations for children, adolescents, and those experiencing menopause, serving patients across a wide range of ages. The clinic has four clinical psychologists on staff, providing thorough support from a team of specialized professionals. Appointments are required for all consultations, with operations designed to minimize waiting times. The clinic is approximately a 12-minute walk from Keihan/JR Zezostations, and English-language support is available.
