Located in Nishioji-cho, Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture, Kato Breast Clinic was the first breast clinic in the prefecture to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for breast-related conditions. Their endoscopic breast surgery, developed independently in 1996, results in less visible surgical scars and maintains a favorable breast contour compared to traditional breast-conserving surgery, having performed approximately 4,400 breast cancer surgeries over about 18 years as of 2024. They employ rational omission of axillary dissection through sentinel lymph node biopsy and drug therapy based on clinical trial results, while also contributing to the development and clinical research of a hair loss prevention device for chemotherapy, which received regulatory approval as a medical device in Japan in 2020. Clinical hours are scheduled for weekday and Saturday mornings, afternoon consultations on Tuesday through Saturday, and evening consultations on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. The facility features parking and barrier-free access, and also provides English-language services.
