Located in the center of Kasukabe City, Saitama Prefecture, Kasukabe City Medical Center is a medical facility specializing in internal medicine. Since June 2017, the facility has introduced the da Vinci robotic surgical assistance system and began performing robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. This procedure allows for free manipulation of three robotic arms within an enlarged 3D surgical field, enabling more delicate and precise operations compared to traditional surgery, with expected reductions in intraoperative bleeding and postoperative urinary incontinence. Surgeries are performed under comprehensive safety measures led by an instructor with experience in over 800 prostate surgeries, along with four staff members holding da Vinci clinical usage licenses. Da Vinci surgeries are covered by health insurance. Robot-assisted surgery is performed through several small incisions, resulting in smaller wounds, reduced bleeding, faster postoperative recovery, and less burden on patients. The facility also offers services in English, accepts credit cards and electronic payments, and provides parking and barrier-free accommodations to meet diverse needs.
