Kawara Heart Clinic, located in Sonezaki-machi, Tosu City, Saga Prefecture, is a community-based clinic centered on cardiovascular internal medicine, also offering plastic surgery and gastroenterology services. Director Dr. Akihiro Maezono graduated from Kyushu University School of Medicine in 2012 and gained broad experience in emergency medicine, nephrology, and intensive care at general hospitals before specializing in cardiovascular internal medicine at Kyushu University from 2017. He continues doctoral research at the university's graduate school (Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Public Health), focusing primarily on the epidemiology of arrhythmias, with the goal of bringing the latest medical knowledge to community healthcare. Depending on the day of the week, the clinic operates a collaborative system involving multiple specialists, including Dr. Yasushi Okuda (former professor of hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery at Kurume University) and surgeons from Kurume University, in addition to the director's own consultations. Consultations are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00–13:00 and 14:30–18:00, and on Saturdays until 17:00; the clinic is closed on Wednesdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The clinic's philosophy is "medicine that stands by the patient," placing emphasis on individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's age, lifestyle, and occupational background. The facility offers a car park, barrier-free access, and consultations in English, making it an accessible environment for patients from diverse backgrounds.
