Fukiage Notomi Hospital, operated by the medical corporation Seiseisei, is located in Kozuhara, Kashima City, Saga Prefecture, and serves as a regional medical facility centered on internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine. The hospital's history dates back to the late Edo period, when the Notomi family of physicians — descendants of Notomi Michikama, a student of Hanaoka Seishu — established a practice in Nokomi in the early Meiji era and have since supported local healthcare for generations. In more recent times, the hospital focused on renal failure treatment and urological care, and has built a strong track record as the only urology provider along the Ariake Bay coast in southwestern Saga. Today, while internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine remain its core specialties, the hospital collaborates with specialists across multiple disciplines to address a broad range of medical needs. A particular emphasis is placed on care for elderly patients: the hospital goes beyond routine health checkups, outpatient consultations, and inpatient care to provide comprehensive post-discharge life support through a multidisciplinary team led by medical social workers.
