Tsukumi Central Hospital, operated by the Tsukumi City Medical Association, is a community-based medical institution located in Tsukumi City, Oita Prefecture. Established in August 1989 through the cooperation of local physicians, the hospital celebrated its 36th anniversary in August 2025. Working in collaboration with local government, the hospital strives to improve regional healthcare quality and serves as a model area for enhancing medical and welfare services. For outpatient services, general morning clinics operate on weekdays from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, with follow-up patient registration available from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Specialist clinics include respiratory medicine on Wednesdays and Fridays, and dermatology on Tuesdays. ENT services are available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and urology on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The emergency care system is well-established, with local physicians serving on rotation for after-hours care. Doctor helicopter transport has also been initiated, providing effective emergency response for Tsukumi City, which includes remote islands. The hospital serves as a hub with an attached geriatric health facility, health screening center, and home nursing station, forming Tsukumi City's medical zone.
