Kitahama Eye Clinic, located in the Kitahama area of Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, has been providing specialized ophthalmology services since 1995 as a community-based medical facility. The clinic director, a Beppu native, graduated from Kumamoto University Faculty of Medicine, joined the Department of Ophthalmology at Fukuoka University Faculty of Medicine, and completed his graduate studies at Kumamoto University Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Holding a Doctor of Medicine degree and certification as an ophthalmology specialist, he brings exceptional expertise to patient care, also serving as an auditor for the Japanese Ophthalmological Association. The clinic operates weekdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with Saturday morning hours only. It is closed Thursday afternoons, Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and public holidays. In addition to general ophthalmology services, the clinic offers contact lens prescriptions and regular refraction tests for amblyopia, including follow-up care for children who require detailed examinations after their three-year-five-month health checkup. A distinctive feature of the clinic is its all-female staff, creating a welcoming environment where patients feel at ease. The facility includes parking and is barrier-free, accommodating those arriving by car or using wheelchairs. English-language service is available, and since appointments are not required, patients can visit at their convenience. Please note that mask-wearing is requested as an infection control measure.
