Ishii Clinic, located in Ichibu-cho, Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, is an internal medicine and gastroenterology clinic approximately a 10-minute walk from Ichibu Station on the Kintetsu Ikoma Line. The clinic director, Dr. Yoshinobu Ishii, holds certifications as a specialist from the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology and as a specialist and instructor from the Japan Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society. After joining the Third Department of Internal Medicine at Nara Medical University, he gained experience in gastroenterology at multiple hospitals before opening the clinic in 2005. With experience in emergency and rural medicine, the clinic provides care for general internal medicine as well as pediatric medicine and minor surgical procedures. A key feature is the low-discomfort transnasal endoscopy, which uses a thin 5mm diameter scope inserted through the nose, reducing the gag reflex and allowing patients to converse during the examination. Ultrasound and upper/lower gastrointestinal endoscopies are available at any time, and infection prevention measures include an ozone automatic washing machine for endoscopes. The clinic also emphasizes home visits and has established an emergency visit system for affiliated nursing care facilities. Various vaccinations are available, and referrals to university or community hospitals are provided when specialized treatment is needed. The facility is wheelchair-accessible with handrails in hallways and restrooms. Approximately 100 free parking spaces are available, and English assistance is provided. Hours are 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, closed Thursday afternoons, Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and holidays.
