Located in the mountainous area of Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture, Yasuoka Village Clinic has served as the sole medical facility for approximately 2,000 residents of Yasuoka Village, supporting community healthcare for many years. Established in 1949, the clinic was rebuilt in 1975 and relocated to its current location in 2000. Its shared facility with the Health and Welfare Support Center enables seamless coordination between medical and welfare services. While primarily focusing on internal medicine, the clinic also offers specialized outpatient services in respiratory medicine and nephrology. It is equipped with comprehensive medical devices for a rural clinic, including CT, X-ray, endoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, electrocardiogram, bone densitometry, and pulse wave measurement equipment, enabling precise examinations and diagnoses to be completed on-site. Despite a small staff of one physician, two nurses, and two administrative personnel, the clinic actively provides home healthcare, conducting an average of 5-6 house calls per afternoon, and offers comprehensive care including end-of-life care at home. English assistance is available, and the facility is fully equipped with parking and barrier-free accessibility features. Working closely with the Social Welfare Council, the clinic's integrated approach to medical and welfare services represents its defining characteristic.
