Nankodai Yamamoto Pediatrics, located in Nankodai, Izumi Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, has been a specialized pediatric clinic supporting the healthcare of local children since its establishment in 2007. In May 2023, the clinic relocated to its current location, establishing an enhanced medical care system in a more improved environment. The clinic places particular emphasis on infection prevention measures. Given the current trend of expanding outbreaks of common pediatric infections—including COVID-19, Mycoplasma, RSV, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and streptococcal infections—the clinic has adopted above-standard infection prevention policies that include temporal and spatial isolation. While thoroughly implementing these infection control measures, the clinic concurrently manages chronic diseases including neurological conditions, conducts infant health check-ups, and provides vaccinations, fulfilling its role as a comprehensive family pediatrician for the community. To maintain a safe medical environment, the clinic operates by appointment only with limitations on the number of patients. In addition to English-language support, the clinic provides on-site parking, demonstrating a system that accommodates diverse user needs. Closed days are Wednesdays, Sundays, and holidays, as well as Golden Week, Obon, and year-end and New Year holidays.
