Nishigaoka Hills Clinic, located in Nishigaoka, Aoba-ku, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, is an internal medicine clinic established in a residential area near the Sendai City Astronomical Observatory. Dr. Masaki Abo, the clinic director, has 25 years of extensive clinical experience in surgery, internal medicine, and pediatrics, and holds qualifications as a board-certified surgeon of the Japan Surgical Society, board-certified digestive surgeon of the Japan Society of Gastroenterological Surgery, certified physician for digestive cancer surgical treatment, and mammography interpreting physician. The clinic primarily provides general internal medicine care and also performs gastric endoscopy using a thin scope that can be inserted through the nose, making it relatively easy for patients with strong gag reflexes who find endoscopy difficult to undergo. For breast cancer screening, both mammography and ultrasound screening are available, and secondary examinations for patients referred for further examination through workplace health checkups or comprehensive health screenings are accepted at any time. The clinic is also committed to infection control measures, with the fever clinic operating by phone reservation and examinations conducted in vehicles or isolation rooms. Based on an agreement with Miyagi Prefecture, it is designated as a Type 2 Designated Medical Institution for accepting patients suspected of having emerging infectious diseases. In addition to being able to respond in English, the clinic is equipped with parking and barrier-free facilities, functioning as a home doctor capable of serving a wide range of patients in the community.
