Located on Aji Island, which floats off the coast of Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, Amino Clinic is an internal medicine clinic established in 1999 that supports the island's community healthcare. Upholding the philosophy of "healthcare with human compassion," the clinic provides a wide range of medical services, from routine health management for island residents to 24-hour emergency care and home visits. The clinic facility was converted from a former elementary school building, and the waiting room, adorned with photographs of former school principals and works by graduates, exudes the island's history and warmth. Outpatient care is provided on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and the clinic also offers home visits and visiting nursing, providing comprehensive support for homebound patients in an aging island community. In terms of equipment, the clinic is equipped with a helical CT, electronic endoscope, and ultrasound diagnostic system, and has introduced a system that allows captured images to be remotely transmitted to specialists at cooperating hospitals for consultation, ensuring a high-level diagnostic capability despite being on a remote island. The clinic also conducts various health checkups, including specific health screenings and cancer screenings, supporting the health of local residents from a preventive medicine perspective. Additionally, Amino operates an adjacent long-term care health facility with a capacity of 20 residents, providing integrated medical and nursing care. English-speaking staff, parking, and barrier-free facilities are also available.
