Located in Kajiwara, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Mari Eye Clinic is a medical facility that opened in April 2007, offering treatment by ophthalmologists certified by the Japanese Ophthalmological Society. The clinic is closed on Thursdays, Sundays, holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, and Obon holidays, and provides an environment with English-speaking staff, credit card acceptance, electronic payments, parking, and barrier-free access. With a homey atmosphere featuring handmade wooden furniture created by the director, the clinic adopts a barrier-free design that makes it easy for everyone from children to elderly people and those with disabilities to visit. The clinic has established cooperative relationships with Yokohama City University Hospital, Fujisawa City Hospital, and Kitasato University Hospital. Medical services are wide-ranging, centering on general ophthalmology, including examinations for cataracts, glaucoma, floaters, hay fever, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, as well as prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses and regular check-ups. The clinic is equipped with fundus lasers, YAG lasers, and optical coherence tomography devices, and appointments are not required except for special examinations. Home visits are also provided for those who have difficulty visiting the clinic, supporting those who wish to preserve their vision for as long as possible.
