Hirano Eye Clinic, located in Gukechi-cho, Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, is an ophthalmology specialty clinic that opened in October 2024. Director Dr. Masayuki Hirano is a specialist who has spent many years in surgical treatment and research of cataracts and vitreoretinal diseases as head of ophthalmology at Okayama University Hospital and core hospitals. He holds numerous professional qualifications, including board certification from the Japan Ophthalmological Society, a medical doctorate, certification in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (iStent inject® W, Preserflo®, and MicroShunt), and certification in ophthalmic photodynamic therapy (PDT). The clinic offers same-day surgeries including cataract surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, glaucoma surgery, and eyelid surgery, and is equipped to provide university hospital-level advanced medical care within the local community. In addition to general ophthalmology, the clinic also handles pediatric eye conditions such as strabismus and amblyopia, as well as myopia control treatment with orthokeratology.
