Sugo Children's Clinic is a pediatric clinic located in the Sugo district of Takizawa City, Iwate Prefecture, which opened in February 2024. Dr. Mineo Konishi, the director, graduated from Akita University and worked in neonatal medicine for 15 years at the Department of Pediatrics, Iwate Medical University. After careers at Iwate Prefectural Central Hospital and Morioka Children's Hospital, Dr. Konishi operated Hachimantai Children's Clinic for 10 years from 2014, making him a veteran in regional pediatric medicine. The clinic was established with the aim of bringing medical care to the Sugo district, which had become a pediatric care void during the COVID-19 pandemic, and continues to play a role in consistently protecting the health of local children. A characteristic of this clinic is that while providing comprehensive medical care primarily for children, it is also equipped to handle health consultations for children's families. In addition to being able to provide consultations in English, the clinic has parking facilities and barrier-free equipment, ensuring an environment that is accessible to a wide range of patients. Closed days are Wednesdays, Sundays, and holidays. The clinic is also closed during the Obon period (August 13-16) and the year-end and New Year holidays (December 30-January 3). As a base for regional healthcare to protect the health of children in Takizawa City, it continues to provide locally rooted medical care.
