Himekami Hospital, located at the foot of Mt. Iwate near IGR Shibutami Station, is a medical facility that was newly relocated in June 2015 with Tamayama Okamoto Hospital as its predecessor. Operated by Shinkai Medical Corporation, the hospital has five departments: Psychiatry, Respiratory Medicine, Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Ophthalmology, providing comprehensive care ranging from mental health conditions to lifestyle diseases and respiratory disorders. In Psychiatry, specialists provide mental health diagnosis and treatment, while Respiratory Medicine specialists examine colds, influenza, bronchitis, pneumonia, and asthma. Neurology covers brain, nerve, and muscle disorders including dementia, with emphasis on early intervention for dementia care. Internal Medicine offers management of hypertension and diabetes, regular health checkups, and vaccinations, supporting comprehensive health management. Additionally, preventive medical services such as alcohol constitution testing and lung age measurement are available, and both day care and inpatient facilities are equipped. English-speaking support is available, and the hospital is fully equipped with parking and barrier-free facilities, creating an accessible environment for various patients. Note that advance appointments are required for initial visits, and a referral letter is requested if you have a primary care physician.
