Located in Bunkyocho, Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Hirota Children's Clinic has been serving the pediatric healthcare needs of the local community since opening in 2005. Dr. Hamo Hirota, the clinic director, is a pediatric specialist and MD who graduated from Kitasato University School of Medicine. He completed training at the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center and studied abroad at UCLA (Cedars-Sinai Medical Center), bringing expertise in pediatric cardiology. The clinic offers comprehensive care including infectious diseases, allergies, and pediatric cardiovascular conditions, and also provides sublingual immunotherapy for food allergies. In preventive vaccination, the clinic has introduced the intranasal influenza vaccine "FluMist," which is administered as a nasal spray without injection. Available for children aged 2 to 18, it features once-yearly vaccination that directly induces immunity in the airway mucosa. The clinic offers English-speaking medical services, and provides parking and barrier-free facilities. Appointments are managed through a web-based queuing reservation system, which is also available for first-time patients. The clinic operates Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays and holidays), and all prescriptions are dispensed externally.
