Located in Inamiya, Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Medical Corporation Jiseikai Koyanagi Hospital is a specialized psychiatric and internal medicine hospital with over 70 years of history since its establishment in 1954. It maintains a large-scale inpatient system with a total of 468 beds: 128 beds in the general psychiatric ward, 232 beds in the psychiatric nursing care ward, 54 beds in the nursing care ward, and 54 beds in the dementia ward, playing a central role in psychiatric healthcare in western Ibaraki Prefecture. In 2021, the hospital opened a Dementia Disease Medical Center, providing comprehensive support ranging from differential diagnosis of memory loss and dementia to referrals to local medical institutions and consultation for behavioral issues. Beyond inpatient care, the hospital offers a wide range of rehabilitation programs including psychiatric day care and short care (large-scale), cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychiatric occupational therapy, allowing patients to receive continuous care tailored to their recovery stage. The hospital also provides home-based care through affiliated visiting nurse stations, establishing a community-wide support system to help patients reintegrate into life after discharge. Operating under a medical department system in collaboration with multiple universities including Dokkyo Medical University, Toho University, and Jichi Medical University, the hospital actively engages in initial and advanced medical training as well as practical training for nurses and occupational therapists.
