Shimizu Eye Clinic, located in Aoyamanishi, Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, is an ophthalmology specialty clinic opened in October 2018 by Director Toshinari Shimizu, who accumulated extensive clinical experience in the ophthalmology department of Himeji Red Cross Hospital. The director has performed approximately 20,000 cataract surgeries, 1,500 glaucoma surgeries, and 2,400 vitreoretinal surgeries, demonstrating advanced surgical expertise and the ability to manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. In addition to general ophthalmological care, the clinic treats diverse conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye, and also provides pediatric ophthalmology services covering strabismus and amblyopia from newborns through childhood. In May 2019, a dedicated surgical wing was added, enabling same-day surgeries for cataracts, glaucoma, and external eye diseases to be performed on-site, in a comfortable surgical environment equipped with high-performance instruments and microscopes.
