Located in Futami-cho, Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture, Shiozawa Clinic is an internal medicine and gastroenterology clinic situated about a 10-minute walk west from the south exit of Sanyo Electric Railway's Higashi-Futami Station along the former coastal road, next to the fire station. The clinic has two physicians on staff. Director Dr. Takuo Shiozawa holds certifications from the Japan Surgical Society, the Japan Medical Association as an industrial physician, and as a health sports physician. After graduating from Kobe University School of Medicine and working at several hospitals, he established the clinic in 1980. Dr. Hiroko Shiozawa is a certified specialist in comprehensive internal medicine by the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine and a certified gastroenterology specialist by the Japanese Gastroenterological Association, performing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (transnasal endoscopy) and abdominal ultrasound examinations as needed. Transnasal endoscopy uses a slightly thinner camera inserted through the nose, making it relatively less burdensome for patients. Consultation hours are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday through Saturday mornings, and 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Wednesday afternoons only, with Sundays and public holidays closed. The clinic provides comprehensive examinations and treatment as a community primary care physician, and refers patients to appropriate specialized medical institutions when necessary. English service is available, and parking is provided on-site.
