Located in the Izumi area of Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, Izumi Yamanobe Eye Clinic is a community-focused ophthalmology clinic. Dr. Satoshi Yamanobe, the clinic director, graduated from Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University Faculty of Medicine, served in the Department of Ophthalmology at Tohoku University School of Medicine, and gained experience at multiple medical institutions including Iwaki City General Iwaki Kyoritsu Hospital and Ishinomaki Red Cross Hospital before opening this clinic in April 1999. Under the leadership of Dr. Yamanobe, a board-certified ophthalmologist of the Japan Ophthalmological Society with a Ph.D. in Medicine from Tohoku University, the clinic provides care that emphasizes careful communication with patients while actively incorporating the latest medical technologies and equipment. In terms of facilities, the clinic is equipped with high-precision examination instruments including SD-OCT and SS-OCT (retinal tomography imaging devices), wide-angle fundus imaging devices, static automated perimeters, binocular open automated perimeters, and skin electrode ERG, handling a wide range from contact lens examinations and eyeglass prescriptions to specialized precision examinations for the retina and visual field. The clinic operates on a reservation-priority system to reduce waiting times, and advance reservations are recommended for first-time patients and those requesting special examinations such as mydriatic examinations and visual field tests. In addition to English-language support, the clinic provides a dedicated parking lot for 30 vehicles, barrier-free facilities, and is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from the north exit of JR Jōban Line Izumi Station.
