Tagawa City Hospital is a public general hospital situated on elevated ground in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, approximately 3 km northwest of JR Tagawa Itada Station, offering excellent views of the surrounding area. Serving as the core medical facility for the Tagawa Medical District, which encompasses Tagawa City and Tagawa County, the hospital offers a wide range of departments including internal medicine with organ-specific specialist teams in cardiology, gastroenterology, and nephrology, as well as surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatrics. In emergency medicine, the hospital plays a vital role in supporting the regional rotation system, and is actively working to expand its emergency treatment facilities with the goal of establishing a policy of never turning away ambulances. The hospital also serves as a Type 2 Designated Infectious Disease Medical Institution and a Disaster Base Hospital, maintaining infectious disease wards at all times and conducting DMAT training for staff to ensure preparedness for emergencies. In April 2023, the hospital opened the first palliative care center in the Tagawa area, further strengthening its end-of-life care services. Outpatient hours are from 8:30 to 17:00 on weekdays, and the hospital provides a patient-friendly environment with multilingual support including English and Korean, acceptance of credit cards and electronic payments, ample parking, and barrier-free facilities.
