For gastroscopy and colonoscopy examinations, new techniques to reduce discomfort have been introduced. Mild sedatives are administered intravenously, and safe examinations are performed while monitoring blood pressure and respiratory status. For colonoscopy, a thinner pediatric scope than at other hospitals is used to minimize discomfort. Transnasal endoscopy (inserted through the nose) is also available. The clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of stomach cancer, colon cancer, gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, gastric polyps, and colon polyps. Helicobacter pylori testing and eradication treatment are also provided on an ongoing basis. In fiscal year 2024, the clinic performed 1,597 gastroscopies and 923 colonoscopies, totaling 2,520 endoscopic procedures.
